I wanted to try their family version, since I have a lifetime suscription to another service, but unless your family has multiple IT degrees, don't even bother. ![]() Ugh, worse experience with software in a long time. I cancelled within the trial period, after spending 3 days trying to recover my account since I lost my password. Also, it doesn't allow you to see what password you are writing, so good luck finding out which letter you got wrong. Plus, the login is the crapiest ever, it doesn't work with other password managers (at least not my current one) because it has the extra field for the masterkey. It is impossible to recover your account if you loose your password or masterkey. If you loose your master password, you are in for a world or pain. It is impossible to get support on the phone or even chat. So, please spare me the whole act and focus on improving your support. On the third day I finally managed to access my account (eventhough my credit card info was accepted perfectly well from day one) So, in what world getting support 2 days later, for something as critical as a password manager, is a good service? You barely offer ways of resetting or recovering one's account, yet you take for 2 days to provide help? Common, I'm glad the media managing branch is on top of everything, but I'm not looking for a media managing app. It took 2 days for support to answer my questions. If I knew I would had started by publishing my review here first, and then move to the support team. I wish the support team answered as quick as the media managing team. I wish that Apple would adopt a similar approach for shared Contacts, which are a bit of a pain to achieve using multiple Apple IDs. The shared and private vault scheme works well for us, with virtually all our password in the Family shared vault. The app is fast enough so that I am not particularly concerned with the way it is implemented (with some web technology underneath). This is now working quite well, though I am still not completely comfortable with the redesigned user interface. There were some glitches recently when I transitioned my wife to Password 8 and the shared Family membership (not the fault of 1Password itself). This year I rather reluctantly decided to go with the subscription model and I bought a Family membership, and I started using the beta version of Password 8. One drawback is that the licensing terms meant that we had to purchase two copies of the app (up through 1Password 7) to run on our two iMacs, we shared our passwords by synching the password database file through Dropbox. We, my wife and I, have been using 1Password for a few years and found it very useful. Transitioning from Password 7 to Password 8 with Family membership
